Graduation

When your student completes their time at WVCS, we know that they’ll be ready to thrive in high school, and we think that is something worth celebrating. In honor of their progress and achievements, we host an annual 8th-grade graduation ceremony. As a part of this ceremony, we present three students who have exemplified what it means to embrace our core values of academic excellence and Christian character with an award.

VALEDICTORIAN AWARD

The student who has achieved the highest grade point average of the school year earns the honor of receiving this award.

1 Corinthians 10:31: “… whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”

BARNABAS AWARD

The graduate considered the most encouraging by his or her classmates earns the honor of receiving this award.

Acts 11:23-24: "Then when he arrived and witnessed the grace of God, he rejoiced and began to encourage them all with resolute heart to remain true to the Lord; for he was a good man, and full of the Holy Spirit and of faith."

TIMOTHY AWARD

This award is voted on by the faculty of West Valley Christian Middle School and given to the student who best demonstrates the ability to “accurately handle the word of truth” as mentioned in II Timothy 2:15.

II Timothy 2:15: “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.”
