Three's Curriculum

 
Teacher directed activities include numbers, letters, days, months, colors, shapes, seasons, Bible stories, songs, and fingerplays. Activities for the development of fine motor skill include coloring, cutting, gluing and manipulating objects.
 
BIBLE
Bible stories, scripture memory and prayer

PRE-READING SKILLS
Recognize similarities and differences among pictures, shapes, letters and words.
Recognize letters of the alphabet and their sounds.
 
MATH
Recognize colors, shapes and patterns.
Recognize numbers, one to one correspondence, quantities and matching.
 
PRE-WRITING SKILLS
An introduction to the use of pencils and how to follow directional paths in tracing.
 
ACADEMIC CENTERS
Dramatic Play: Building social and self-help skills.
Blocks: Building large and small motor skills.
Science: Critical thinking and eye-hand coordination.
Art: Creativity through different art forms, open ended art is encouraged.
Math: Critical thinking, patterning and organizing.
Language: Learning letters through hands on activities.
Sensory Table: Hands on exploration using sensory items.
 
SOCIAL SKILLS
Training the students in using your words to talk things out, good manners, lining up, sharing, etc.
 
PLAYGROUND ACTIVITIES
Development of large motor skills, riding trikes, kicking balls, running, tumbling, extension of the classroom with outdoor center activities such as water table, sand table, art, blocks, etc.
 
SAFETY
All preschoolers participate in monthly fire drills and occasional "lock down" drills.
