The Servant Leader Scholarship in Memory of Andrew Kimmerle

Intent

The Servant Leader Scholarship in Memory of Andrew Kimmerle provides a merit-based scholarship to one WVCS 8th grade student who plans on attending any accredited Christian high school and exemplifies the same values that Andrew lived out.

Award Amount

$1,000 one-time scholarship

ELIGIBILITY Criteria

  • The student must be in 8th grade at WVCS and planning to continue on to an accredited Christian High School.

  • The nominated students are to exemplify these qualities among their peers:

    • Seeing a need and filling it.

      • Example: Helping others without being asked. 

    • Quick to help, regardless of the task.

      • Example: a ready volunteer to get the job at hand done.

    • Chivalry.

      • Example: opening doors for others, allowing others to go first, carrying items for others.

    • Good-natured around others.

      • Example: playful, well-mannered.

    • Shows conviction.

      • Example: stands up for what they believe is right, even if they’re standing alone.

    • Brave & Bold.

      • Example: can go against the flow to be a difference maker for the better. Capable of doing hard things. 

    • Natural leader.

      • Example: peers follow their initiative because there is trust & loyalty established.

    • Trusted by staff.

      • Example: given special opportunities & responsibilities because of their proven trust.

    • Respectful to authority.

      • Example: teachers, staff, administration. Can respectfully disagree, as well.
